Eden Prairie Community Spotlight:
Security Bank & Trust Company is an active community volunteer and financial supporter. Through our efforts in Eden Prairie, MN, we have crossed paths with many organizations and each December we hold a community luncheon in conjunction with the Eden Prairie Community Foundation to say Thank you. We believe that each of our residents and our nonprofit organizations make a profound impact on City of Eden Prairie in their own way and it is the little things that drive the improvement of life in our community. Brick by brick. Organization by organization. The overarching picture has been built by the everyday actions which has resulted in the high quality of life Eden Prairie represents. To build off this belief, we are doing a Community Spotlight on organizations making a difference in our communities.
Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools (FEPS)
Mission: To support and enhance the legacy of excellence in Eden Prairie Public Schools.
Since 1998, FEPS has awarded over $770,000 to fund innovative programs that directly impact students. The programs and recipients change over the years but FEPS activities and support range from administering scholarships to students to issuing grants for teachers. Security Bank has been proud supporter of this positive organization throughout its annual events which include:
- Taste of Eden Prairie – The Taste of Eden Prairie is the Foundation’s signature fundraising event hosting hundreds of community members. The event includes food from local restaurants, cash bar, silent auction, music and trivia.
- Appreciation Gifts – Each spring and winter, an appreciation gift with a personalized card can be purchased and sent to a teacher or district staff person.
- Legacy Awards – The Legacy Awards honor those who have made a significant contribution to Eden Prairie Schools. Eden Prairie Schools teachers, staff, volunteers, students, alumni and community members are honored at this annual event.
- 5K for Eden Prairie Schools – This 5K Run is held each year in fall at the Eden Prairie High School.
The 5K for Eden Prairie Schools, COLOR RUN, is coming on September 24, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. The location for the event is Aerie Stadium – Eden Prairie High School.
