Honolulu, HI, United States (4E) - Former mixed martial arts (MMA) UFC bantamweight champion and movie star Ronda Rousey married fellow MMA fighter Travis Browne in Hawaii just four months after Browne popped the question to his bride-to-be.

Browne, 35, and Rousey, 30, were married in Browne's home state of Hawaii on Aug. 28. Their marriage capped an almost two-year long relationship strained by a conflict with Browne's ex-wife, who accused Browne of having an affair with Rousey.

The couple announced their engagement in April. Browne proposed to Rousey under a waterfall in New Zealand. As Rousey recalls:

""It was actually after heavy rain and we were under this waterfall," she said.

"Apparently he had this whole speech prepared but it just went down into bullet points in the moment. So he pulls out the ring and I'm already like, 'Uh huh' before he even says anything.

"(And he's) like, 'Okay, we're in New Zealand, we're under a waterfall, will you marry me?' "

Rousey was the first female champion of the UFC in 2012. She is the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion, and the last Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion.

She won 12 consecutive MMA fights, six in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), before suffering her first loss to Holly Holm in November 2015.

Browne competes as a heavyweight in the UFC, and was number 14 in the official UFC Heavyweight rankings as of July 11, 2017.
