London, England, United Kingdom (4E Sports) - Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas all scored to lift Chelsea to a 3-1 win over Arsenal in their Saturday's Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.
After a slow start, Antonio Conte's team took control in the 13th minute when Alonso recovered Diego Costa's header and scored for a 1-0 lead.
Arsenal had a chance to tie the count before the break but Gabriel's header missed the mark.
Hazard doubled Chelsea's lead in the 53rd minute before Cesc Fabregas made it a 3-0 game in the 85th minute as he capitalized on Petr Cech's poor pass.
Arsenal avoided a shutout when Olivier Giroud scored in stoppage time.
With the win, Chelsea extended its lead over Arsenal to 12 points. However, second-placed Tottenham Hotspur reduced Chelsea's advantage to nine points later in the day with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough .
Despite the lead, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said the title race is far from over.
"No, because there are 14 games to play and 42 points to take," said Conte .
"For sure today it was important to win against our rival for the title. When you have this type of situation you must exploit it," he added.
Meanwhile, Harry Kane's penalty kick in the 58th minute to lift Tottenham to a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane.
The win was Tottenham's first in three Premier League matches, cutting Chelsea's lead to nine points.
The loss, for its part, dropped Middlesbrough to 15th , a point above the drop zone.
In other matches, Sunderland blanked Crystal Palace, 4-0; Everton beat Bournemouth, 6-3; Hull City defeated Liverpool, 2-0; West Ham downed Southampton, 3-1; Watford beat Burnley , 2-1 and West Brom edged Stoke City, 1-0.
