London, United Kingdom (4E Sports) - Georginio Wijnaldum scored on a header in the 54th minute to help Liverpool force a 1-1 draw against Premier League leader Chelsea Tuesday at Anfield .
Chelsea took the lead in the 25th minute behind David Luiz's free kick but Wijnaldum nodded past Thibaut Courtois to tie the count in the second half.
"I am happy about the performance. I think it was obvious we played against an outstanding strong, outstanding experienced side. I thought we did well, from the first second we were in the game and were aggressive," said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp .
Despite the tie, Chelsea kept a nine-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal while Liverpool remained in 4th place, 10 points behind Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Watford earned its first Premier League road win with a 2-1 triumph over Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Younes Kaboul opened scoring with a powerful drive in the 10th minute while Troy Deeney made it a 2-0 game in the 13th minute.
Alex Iwobi put Arsenal on the board in the 58th minute but came up short, allowing Watford to escape with the win.
In other matches, Crystal Palace blanked Bournemouth, 2-0; Burnley beat Leicester, 1-0; Swansea defeated Southampton, 2-1; while Middlesbrough and West Brom settled for 1-1 draw.
